Motivated by her professional and personal journey as an independent home-based primary care provider, Dr. Odessa Hoinkis of Bergen Geriatric Care in New Jersey started Ready to Round: A company offering practice advisory services and creative staffing solutions with a focus on supporting medical professionals in navigating complex healthcare settings with extensive administrative burdens.  
 
As home-based primary care providers with a focus in assisted living settings, Dr. Hoinkis and her team have built a growing and thriving practice, delivering comprehensive care to a frail patient population while maintaining high staff retention and work satisfaction. 
 
Recognizing the high administrative load and intricate care navigation necessary to meet their patients’ needs - even prior to the Covid-19 world pandemic – Dr. Hoinkis engaged the remote support of skilled and qualified virtual medical assistants that she recruited herself from her birth country - the Philippines.  
 
This combination proved to be invaluable, especially during the public health emergency. The clinical and technical skillsets of her qualified virtual team members have been crucial to the support of providers in the field as well as to office staff.  
 
By combining the hands-on skill of her onsite staff and the well-coordinated virtual support, along with detailed workflow observations and streamlining processes, the practice was able to not only navigate through the challenges of the pandemic, but also shift focus from faxes and papers to patients and families - leading to improved clinical outcomes as well as increased practice revenue. At the same time, she created supportive and rewarding professional and personal relationships between herself, her office staff, and the virtual medical assistants in the Philippines. 
 
The goal of Ready to Round is to set up all involved parties for success  by assisting strained providers and their staff.
